Sneezing 15 Times In A Row Every Morning, Do I Have An Allergy?
Asked on October 18, 2026
Patient's Query
Every single morning I sneeze like 10 to 15 times in a row and my nose runs like a tap. By lunch it's much better. This has been going on for months, not just in spring. We have a cat at home. Is this an allergy and what can I do about it?

Quick Answer
Sneezing fits and a runny nose every morning all year round are typical of allergic rhinitis, often triggered by dust mites or pets such as your cat. Wash bedding weekly in hot water, keep the cat out of the bedroom and try a saltwater nose rinse. An allergist can test for your exact trigger.
Detailed Answer
Sneezing fits and a watery nose every morning are very typical of allergic rhinitis. When it happens all year, the most common triggers are dust mites in bedding, pet dander and mold, which are strongest in the bedroom. Some people get similar symptoms without an allergy, called non-allergic rhinitis, triggered by cold air or strong smells.
Wash pillow covers and sheets in hot water every week, use dust mite proof covers, keep pets out of the bedroom and air out the room every day. A saltwater nose rinse in the morning can help. An allergist can do a skin or blood test to find your exact trigger and suggest the right nasal spray, tablets or long-term treatment.
